Finer Lux buys modern, vintage and discontinued watches from private sellers. Start with the brand, full reference if known, condition and what accompanies it. We discuss the particular watch before making an offer. A popular model name alone does not identify its value.
A direct sale gives you an offer to accept or decline after inspection. An auction involves its own timetable and fees, while a private sale requires you to find and deal with a buyer. Compare the net amount, timing and responsibilities when choosing how to sell.
The reference, case metal, dial, condition and completeness define the comparison. Tell us whether the watch has been polished, whether it keeps time, and whether it needs servicing. Box, papers, receipts, spare links and service records help explain exactly what is included.
A retail price or advertised asking price is not a guaranteed purchase offer. Two watches from the same collection can differ in configuration, wear and service needs. Our initial assessment is based on the information you send. We explain the final offer after inspecting the watch.
Our watch specialist previously spent seven years with an authorised Rolex distributor. Physical assessment includes opening the case to examine the movement, serial and reference markings and component originality, plus checking relevant bracelet and case markings for consistency. We consider the findings together rather than treating a serial number or papers as proof on their own.
We discuss condition and any differences from your description before asking you to agree a price. A written report can be provided after inspection. Ask about its scope. Our independent assessment is not a manufacturer certificate.
Send clear photographs of the dial, case back, case sides, bracelet or strap and clasp. Show visible wear, and tell us about replacement parts or repairs. Do not open the case yourself or pay for polishing solely to obtain a quote. If the reference is unknown, send what you have and we can discuss identification.
To complete a sale, we need your identification and residential address, with purchase receipts where available. Contact your specialist about providing identification. Keep unrelated personal information out of your initial item photographs.
Request a free valuation using the form or contact Finer Lux with clear photographs, the reference or collection, condition and supplied accessories. We assess your individual piece and explain the next steps.
An initial assessment is subject to physical inspection. We confirm the final offer after checking your item, and there is no obligation to accept.
